Power Triggers New Electric Strike
Dec 31
2021
Question:I replaced an electric strike and it started buzzing when the power was applied. However, the old one didnât. Why is it buzzing and what can I do to fix this issue?
Answer:The buzzing is a result of powering the electric strike with AC power. In the above scenario there would have been an existing rectifier installed inline between the power supply and the old strike itself which was omitted during the installation of the new strike. The buzzing sound can be eliminated by simply adding an inline rectifier which will convert the AC power to DC. Do you have a question, or need a quote? Contact your local IDN
