IDN is a leading distributor of security hardware, access control systems, video surveillance equipment, doors & frames, locksmithing tools, and related security products.

 

Job Description:

Based in Dallas, TX, the individual in this position is responsible for communicating with customers regarding their accounts in a professional yet friendly and courteous fashion.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist customers by phone with questions about their accounts and collecting on delinquent receivables in a firm but flexible fashion.
  • Use the computer system to provide information, research issues and work closely with internal staff to resolve situations that may affect payment receipt from customers.
  • Review and approve Sales Orders/Quotes for existing accounts and monitor accounts that exceed their credit limits.
  • Build strong relationships with customer base to insure that service level is maintained and expectations are clear.
  • Credit checks prospective new accounts and establishes appropriate limits and terms.
  • Assist with departmental projects, filing, cash posting, and miscellaneous office tasks as determined by the department head.
  • This individual should excel in a team-oriented work environment with a fantastic work ethic, great communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to multi-task well.
  • Back up to the phones for the receiptionist
     

Key Working Relationships:

The successful candidate will report to the Accounting Manager. This individual will be working with the accounting, branch and outside sales staff to ensure that customer expectations are exceeded by providing contributions that support customer retention goals and company/branch growth objectives.

 

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years experience with the collection of past due receivables
  • Strong computer skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel)
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Team player
