Title/Position: Purchasing Assistant

Location: Norridge, IL

 

IDN Global, Inc.  is a leading distributor of security hardware, access control systems, video surveillance equipment, doors & frames, locksmithing tools, and related security products seeking a full-time employee for an Inside Sales position.

 

Job Description:

Based in Norridge, Illinois, the individual in this position will work together with our purchasing supervisor to ensure all day to day tasks are completed effectively.

 

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Reviewing purchase order acknowledgements for accuracy
  • Correcting vendor shipping discrepancies for all branches
  • Research and resolve invoice/Purchase order price variances
  • Tracking and notifying the field on vendor price increases
  • Maintain and update price books in our shared folder
  • Implementing vendor price increases
  • Light purchasing of product lines
  • Review and resolve past due, open purchase orders with vendors
  • Update various vendor notes in our AP file
  • Researching and processing inventory adjustments
  • Processing customer returns
  • Assist in managing various customer return folders
  • Entering promotional pricing
  • New product set up

This individual should excel in a team-oriented work environment – working with our purchasing supervisor to ensure our company goals and expectations are achieved.

 

Key Working Relationships:

The successful candidate will report to the Purchasing Supervisor in Norridge, Illinois. The individual will work closely with other staff members in Accounting, Warehouse and Sales departments.

 

Requirements:

  • Must be self-driven & hard working
  • Strong computer skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel)
  • Must know how to input basic formula’s in Excel
  • 2 to 3 years purchasing experience (distribution industry preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task
  • Basic math skills
  • Team player
