Cut Keys with “XX” in the Code Stamping
January 01
2022
Question:Why do some Master Lock cut keys contain âXXâ in the code stamped on the heads (I.E. 4XX1412) and can I buy these blanks?
Answer:These âblindâ codes were stamped on Master Lockâs older W400 and W410 keys in order to identify them as part of a safety lockout system. The latest generation of these keys are the W401 and W417 respectively which are identified by the use of 1 letter in the code in lieu of the XX (I.E. 18F128). These keys are not available as blanks and must be ordered as cut keys through the factory in order to maintain the integrity of each safety lockout system. Do you have a question, or need a quote?
