What is the difference between a Half Surface Hinge and a Half Mortise Hinge?
Answer:
Half Mortise Hinges have one leaf mortised into the door edge and the other leaf is mounted to the surface of the frame face. Half Surface Hinges have on leaf mounted to the surface of the door and other leaf is mortised into the frame.
Just remember it's all about the door:
- Half Mortise = Mortised into door edge
- Half Surface = Surface mounted to the door
