Question:
What is the best type of anchoring for a hollow metal frame being installed into an existing masonry wall?
Answer:
Industry standards state the frame would need to be "drilled and countersunk" to receive expansion sleeve bolts. Holes must be drilled into the existing walls as well. The bolts are then put thru the stop of the frame into the pre-drilled holes in the masonry. When the bolts are tightened, the expansion portion will grip the masonry wall.
