Question: Can you get a knock down (3 piece) pressed steel frame that has a fire rating?   Answer: Yes, most knock down frames (with no welding option on a pressed steel frame) can be fire rated up to 90 minutes provided they are installed correctly in a fire rated partition. Typical hollow metal frames (Curries / Steelcraft / Republic / Ceco) industry standard heavy and medium duty commercial and the like can be rated as high as 3-hours as knocked down or welded but are typically roll formed.
